Production Assistant (Potting & Plant Quality)

Position Overview

The Production Assistant plays a critical role in our nursery by supporting both efficient potting operations and high-quality plant production. This role focuses on learning and operating our potting system while ensuring each plant is potted correctly, consistently, and to our quality standards. Success requires balancing production speed with attention to detail. After potting season, you will work under the nursery manager to learn and  elp with the care of over 200 psecies of native shrubs, perennials, ferns, and greases.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and help operate Javo potting machinery
  • Learn and implement potting procedures and SOP’s
  • Maintain production flow (pots per hour)
  • Ensure proper planting depth and consistency
  • Track production and material usage
  • Support plant handling and spacing
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas

  • Efficient, consistent potting runs
  • Uniform, high-quality plants
  • Accurate tracking of materials
  • Issues identified early

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physical work
  • Comfortable with machinery

Strong attention to detail

Preferred:
Equipment or nursery experience
Basic Spanish (helpful, not required)

Work Environment

– Outdoor and greenhouse work
– Fast-paced, physical role
