Carolina Native Nursery: Assistant Nursery Manager
Carolina Native Nursery, in the mountains of western N.C., is the industry leader in the production and sales of regionally native shrubs, perennials, ferns, and grasses throughout the eastern U.S. Due to our growth and expansion; we are currently searching for the right individual to join our team. We are a dynamic, progressive, and innovative organization and will maintain that mindset as we continue our mission of growing beautiful, garden center quality native plants for our expanding clientele. You will have the opportunity to take the knowledge you have and couple that with what we know from growing these plants for over a decade to make us a better nursery.
Overall review of responsibilities:
Carolina Native Nursery’s assistant nursery manager will be an integral part of our outstanding team. Because of the growth our company is experiencing, finding the right person looking for a position who is looking for autonomy, responsibility, and the opportunity to find a home in western N.C. is essential.
Our manager will help determine optimal growing conditions for our plants. Being an integral part of the decisions about when to propagate, plant, fertilize, harvest, and sell could be the responsibility of Carolina Native’s assistant grower.

Primary Responsibility will be management of production
- Supervise all potting up activities and schedules
- Follow All Our Established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS)
- Production goals
- Help Supervise all seasonal employees
- Be involved in hiring
Secondary Responsibilities include:
Learn and help to Manage all
- and other concerns for optimum growth rates
- Help to continue to develop written systems and standards to insure top quality plant material
- Help to develop projections and schedules
- Keep inventories
- Happy friendly, and engaged
Skidsteer and tractor skills a plus!

Full time, year round position: Base Salary dependent on experience.
Associate Degree minimum, B.A. or B.S. preferred. Microsoft Word, Excel, Facebook, and Instagram knowledge. QuickBooks is a plus. You will become proficient in QuickBooks and effectively write up invoices on the route.
