Native Shrubs and Perennials in Beautiful Burnsville, NC

Carolina Native Nursery is the go-to source for native shrubs and perennials along the east coast. We specialize in growing native azaleas and rhododendron from seed, which allows us to provide plants that are high quality, hard to find, and hardy in your landscape. Adding native plants to a garden is guaranteed to provide food and shelter for a variety of birds, bees, and butterflies. That is why our mission is to save the earth, one plant at a time. We are committed to providing the highest quality native plants while at the same time making a positive impact on the environment. Whether you are a devoted fan of native plants, or you are just looking to add some beauty to the garden, we have you covered. Follow the links below to learn more, and feel free to give us a call!

Carolina Native Nursery

Discover Native Plants

William Bartram, in Travels (1791), said in the first description of the Flame Azalea, “This is the most gay and brilliant flowering shrub yet known.” We agree, and made it our brand.

We are located on 12 beautiful acres in Burnsville, North Carolina at 1639 Prices Creek Road in Yancey County, the gateway to Mt. Mitchell. Wholesale AND retail clients are always welcome. Please forward us your whole plant list and let us help. Call 828-682-1471, fax 828-682-1303, or email.

Why Choose a Native Plant Nursery?

Carolina Native Nursery is open for wholesale and retail from 8:30 to 5:00 Monday-Friday throughout the year. The fact that garden centers, wholesale nurseries, and rewholesalers have such a limited selection of native shrubs, their staff possesses little knowledge of them, and they are not displayed as a group, makes a trip to see us certainly worthwhile. Plus our prices can’t be beat.
